Somaro is a Maiko teahouse. It was built as Somaya restaurant in the Edo period. In those days, it was a famous restaurant in Sakata.
In 1996, it was renamed Somaro and remodeled to a Maiko teahouse.
It is a beautiful traditional Japanese house, displaying paintings, calligraphy works and antiques.
You can appreciate dances performed by Maiko.

相馬樓は、舞子茶屋です。江戸時代に、料亭相馬屋として建設されました。相馬屋は当時酒田では有名な料亭でした。
1996年に相馬樓に改名し、舞子茶屋として修復されました。
伝統的な美しい日本家屋で、中には絵画、書道、骨董品などが展示されています。
また、舞子による舞いの鑑賞もできます。
